Cash App fees at a glance
Sending and receiving money on a personal Cash App account is free when you pay from your balance, a linked bank or a debit card. Sending with a credit card costs the sender 3%. Standard deposits to your bank are free, while instant deposits cost between 0.5% and 2.5% according to Cash App's terms, with a minimum of 25 cents to $1 and a maximum of $75.
If you sell goods or services you need a Cash App for Business account. Cash App lists 2.6% plus 15 cents on each payment received from a customer's Cash App account, and a flat 3% for in-person Tap to Pay. Business accounts are meant for selling, and personal accounts should not be used for business sales.
What Cash App costs on a typical sale
On a $100 Cash App payment to a business account, the fee is $2.60 plus $0.15, which is $2.75, so you receive $97.25. On a $20 sale the fee is $0.52 plus $0.15, which is $0.67, an effective 3.35%. On a $500 sale the fee is $13.15, or 2.63%. If you then cash out instantly at 1.5%, you pay roughly another $1.46 on the $97.25 balance from the $100 sale. Waiting for the free standard transfer avoids that cost.
